Thanks, it has pockets!

I like to imagine all the creator goddesses from every polytheistic religion hang out together and are friends.

Eingana is specifically a Jawoyn goddess from northern Australia. She is a goddess of the Dreamtime, and is also called the Dreamtime Snake. The dreamtime is found in many Aboriginal religions and is apparently hard to describe in English: vaguely put it’s a sort of eternal force/time/space/reality/spirit-world that has existed since before creation, and governs how Aboriginal people interact with nature.

Eingana is said to have given birth to every living thing. We are all still connected to her by a spiritual umbilical cord, and when that cord breaks, we die.

For my depiction of her I did a bunch of research into Aboriginal body art, a fascinating topic I urge you all to look into. I did my best to capture various elements Aboriginal art styles here, but it obviously can’t hold a candle to the incredible variety of genuine art styles used by different cultures across Australia.
